ABOUT US
In southern Malawi, and precisely in Balaka, Father Mario Pacifici, Monfort missionary, arrived here thirty five years ago and founded with Cesare Castelli the "Andiamo Youth Cooperative Trust" which now has nearly 700 workers. The Cooperative operates within four areas of development:- People find jobs in the 33 activities of Andiamo, including health care, education, vocational training, construction, agriculture, mechanics, sports, and last but not the musical one. Precisely in this context born the Alleluya Band, a band created in 1978 as a church choir and now became the point of musical reference throughout Malawi. Our representative in Italy is Orizzonte Malawi onlus, that use the valuable collaboration of many associations:

In Balaka, a small town in southern Malawi, there is a government hospital that partially responds to the needs of the community. Andiamo Youth Cooperative Trust, with the help of Italian donors, in recent years has built and made operational a maternity ward, in 2011 built and set up the pediatrics ward, which will be operational shortly, in 2012 has completed the construction of the adults ward, that will be fitted with equipment shpped by Orizzonte Malawi. The presence of the three departments at the small hospital gives the title of Community Hospital, officially recognized by the Malawian government. The Balaka district includes a small urban area and a large rural area. The absence of infrastructures makes communication difficult and therefore access to health services, so it was decided to build the decentralized structures of first aid: In Kapandatsitsi already operational, one under construction in Toleza, two centers at about 20 km from Balaka.
